Partnering
Payments and donations.
Last updated 4 August 2026
Money moves through Lukeni in one simple pattern: a family pays once for a finished biography, and when that order came through a partner organisation's page, 100 goes to the organisation. This page explains both sides in full, and states the terms that govern them.
How families pay
Nothing is charged until the biography is finished and the family has reviewed and approved it. There are no deposits and no instalments. One payment, at the end, and only if the family approves.
Payment is processed by Stripe. The merchant is ThemisNexus OÜ, the company that operates Lukeni, and that is the name that appears on the card statement. Prices are listed on the pricing page and shown again at checkout. The price is the same whether or not the order came through a partner page.
The donation to your organisation
When an order comes through a community organisation's page, we donate 100 in the currency the family paid in to that organisation: 100 euros, 100 US dollars, 100 Canadian dollars.
The donation is made by us, out of the price of the order. It is not added to the family's bill, and it is not a donation by the family: families pay the same price everywhere on Lukeni. What the family's order decides is where our donation goes.
Orders that come through a funeral home generate a referral fee to the funeral home instead of a donation, at the rate shown in the partner dashboard.
How the money reaches you
Each donation is routed to the Stripe account your organisation opens during registration, where it is held for you. You can pay it out to your bank whenever you choose. We deduct nothing: no platform fee, no administration charge, no invoicing.
Refunds
If an order is refunded, the donation or fee tied to it does not go ahead. If it has already been paid out to your bank, we offset it against the next one instead of reclaiming it from your account.
The partner terms
Together with the site Terms of Use, this is the whole agreement between a partner organisation and ThemisNexus OÜ, the company that operates Lukeni. Creating a page on the registration page counts as accepting it. There is nothing else to sign.
The agreement is between your organisation and ThemisNexus OÜ, the Estonian company that operates Lukeni and takes payment for every biography.
For every completed order attributed to your page: a donation of 100 in the buyer's currency for community organisations, or the referral fee shown in your dashboard for funeral homes. An order is completed when the family has approved the biography and paid.
The donation is made by ThemisNexus OÜ from its own proceeds. It reaches your organisation from us, not from the family. The family buys a biography; we make the donation because the order came through your page. How your organisation records what it receives is for your own adviser to decide, and the answer differs between countries.
You let us show your organisation's name, and the text and imagery you add in the page builder, on your co-branded page and in the materials you choose to send your members. We use them nowhere else without asking you first.
Families buy from us, not from you. ThemisNexus OÜ is the merchant of record and the data controller under the GDPR. Your organisation never handles family data, payments, refunds, or disputes.
Nothing, ever. There is no fee to join, no fee to stay, and nothing is deducted from what we send you.
A refunded order generates no donation or fee. If one was already paid out, we offset it against the next; we do not reclaim money from your account.
Either side can end it at any time, by email or by deleting the page. The page comes down, and donations already made stay made.
